stamping sunday blog hop – mini 2020 favorite…

12.29.19…..Happy Sunday, everyone! Yes, my friends, it’s time for another Stamping Sunday Blog Hop, and I am super excited to share these cards with you today!

This is my first post with products from the new Stampin’ Up 2020 Mini Catalog, which by the way, is jam-packed with incredibly amazing stamp sets and accessories! It was so hard to choose a favorite, but I finally decided on the Tropical Oasis Suite.  I absolutely love this entire suite, from the Timeless Tropical Bundle, to the coordinating dies, to the DSP and all of the accessories!  Sooooooo much fun!!!

With all of that being said, I’m sharing three cards (beginner, casual, and avid) using the Tropical Oasis Suite. (The avid card is featured above.)  I’ve also included complete instructions underneath each card, so you can scroll right to the card that suits your fancy and start creating!

Let’s start with the beginner card.  This card is quick and easy, and uses limited supplies.

I started with a Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base, and then added two pieces of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.  I also added a smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock on top of that.  The palm trees (from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) were stamped in Old Olive, on Whisper White Cardstock.  After I cut them out with one of the coordinating dies from the Timeless Tropical Bundle, I popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment (also from the Timeless Tropical Bundle), was stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock, using my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad, and popped up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To add just a bit more dimension to my card, I also distressed the edges of all of the paper.  For just a little of of texture, I added a Linen Thread Bow.

Next up is the casual card.  This requires just a bit more time and a just a few extra supplies.

I used the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder with some Whisper White Cardstock.  After I layered it with a slightly larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I added a small piece of Braided Burlap Trim.  I then adhered the entire panel to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base.  I also cut out the Whisper White “aloha” sentiment, using one of the dies from the Timeless Tropical Bundle.

To create the little Whisper White “frame”, I used two of the square Stitched Shapes Dies, and placing the smaller die inside of the larger die.  Before I adhered the “frame” with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (cut in half), I added a plain square of Whisper White Cardstock. I then added a small square of Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper, popped up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And last, but certainly not least…..the avid card!  This card requires additional time and supplies, but it is oh sooooo much fun!

I used the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder with some Whisper White Cardstock.  After I layered it with a slightly larger pieces of Daffodil Delight Cardstock, I also added two strips of Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper, as well as a piece of Braided Burlap Trim.  I then added some Linen Thread and one of the Tropical Oasis Trinkets.  I used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the entire panel to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. 

I cut out the Whisper White “aloha” sentiment (from the Tropical Oasis Bundle) five times, and adhere each of them together (one on top of the other).  This really added some extra dimension to sentiment, and I love the effect it created!   For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Iridescent Sequins.
