Today, I’m sharing one of the new die sets from SAB Coordination Product Release…..the Nature’s Thoughts Dies!  I just love how this die set coordinates with the Positive Thoughts stamp set, from the new January – June 2020 Stampin’ Up!  Mini Catalog.  And you know what that means, my stamping friends…..no more fussy cutting!  Be sure to emphasize what a time-saving feature this is. All of your customers are going to love it!!!

The Nature’s Thoughts Dies are so versatile!  In addition to the dies that coordinate with the Positive Thoughts stamp set, this set also includes a delicate filigree border, (which I used in my 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ card above), two little branches,  (which I included on my 3″ x 3″ card), a tiny butterfly, a larger feather, and a little blooming flower.  These additional dies can be used with any project that you choose!

Let’s get started with my 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ card, which includes some fun techniques that your avid customers are going to love…

Artisan Design Team - Positive Thoughts.jpg

I used the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, along with some Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock, and added it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base.  For the watercolored background, I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set (along with some Shimmery White Cardstock) to stamp some Granny Apple Green branches, Bermuda Bay butterflies, and Melon Mambo flowers. I then misted the paper with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  Once the paper was dry. I added some speckling with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).

To make this card unique, I used a second piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to stamp three flowers, one butterfly, and one branch, using the same colors.  I also misted the paper, and added speckling as well.  However….this time I used the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts dies to cut out the stamped images, and popped them up with several Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment (also from the Positive Thoughts stamp set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Versamark Pad. Tucked underneath the sentiment, is a bit of Linen Thread…..as well as a Gold Glimmer filigree border, cut out with one of the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  I just love the delicate pattern this die creates!  For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several Iridescent Sequins, along with a few gold Metallic Pearls.

Alternative card for beginner/casual crafters:

Simply stamp three flowers, one butterfly, and one branch, using the same colors. Cut them out with the coordinately Nature’s Thoughts Dies. Use the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso (or any color of your choice).  Die cut the Gold Glimmer filigree border. Using the same layout as above, adhere all of the pieces to the card base, using Stampin’  Dimensionals. (Skip the dry-embossing, heat-embossing, watercolor techniques.)

Next up is my little 3″ x 3″ card…

Positive Thoughts - Nature's Thoughts - 3 x 3 by Tammy C. WilsonI used the new Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder, along with a small piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and added it to a 3″ x 3″ Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base.  For the watercolored strip, I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set (along with some Shimmery White Cardstock) to stamp some Granny Apple Green branches, a Bermuda Bay butterfly, and a Melon Mambo flower. I then misted the paper with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  Once the paper was dry, it tore the top edge, and added some speckling with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).

To make this card unique, I used a litte piece of Shimmery White Cardstock to stamp two Bermuda Bay butterflies.  I also misted the paper, and added speckling as well.  However….this time I used the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts dies to cut out the stamped images, and layered the two butterflies together.  To add some extra dimension, I folded up the wings of the top butterfly.  For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on few Iridescent Sequins, along with a couple of gold Metallic Pearls.

Alternative for beginner/casual crafters:

Simply stamp the two Bermuda Bay butterflies. Cut them out with the Nature’s Thoughts Coordinating Dies. Use the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. Stamp the sentiments in Early Espresso (or any color of your choice).  Die cut the Gold Glimmer branches. Using the same layout as above, adhere all of the pieces to the card base, using Stampin’  Dimensionals. (Skip the dry-embossing, heat-embossing, watercolor techniques.)
