Peaceful Poppies Elements - Forever Blossoms by Tammy C. Wilson

02.07.20…..Welcome to the weekend, my stampin’ friends! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am sooooooo loving the Peaceful Poppies Elements! Today, I created a card using the the Peaceful Poppies Elements, which come “pre heat-embossed” on watercolor paper. All you have to do is grab your Aqua Painter and add some color! So much fun!!! If you haven’t ordered the Peaceful Poppies Elements yet, you’ll want to add them to your wish list right away! And, don’t forget…

For this card, I started with a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock, and embossed it with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. To add a bit of extra dimension, I used a cut a small wedge from my Stamping Sponge and dabbed it on my Craft Stampin’ Pad (inked with Whisper White pigment ink). I applied just the tiniest amount of ink to the cardstock, using a light, swirling motion. I also used a clean Stamping Sponge to remove any extra ink. (Since this type of ink dries slowly, this was very easy to do.) Underneath the Bermuda Bay Cardstock, I layered a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the Whisper White Thick Cardstock base, I used my Aqua Painter to add some speckling to the Whisper White Cardstock. (I created the speckling by dipping my Aqua Painter into some Bermuda Bay ink, and “flicking” the brush tip against the brush cap.)

I added three different elements for the foliage on this card. First, I used the tall leaves die (from the Well Written Dies), with Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I used the leaves die (from the In the Woods Dies), with a bit of Vellum Cardstock. I also used the Sprig Punch, along with some Gold Glimmer Paper.

The sentiment (from the Forever Blossoms stamp set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I die cut it with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, I popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For Peaceful Poppies Elements (which I watercolored with my Aqua Painter), I started with two large poppies, one small poppy, two large leaves, and three small leaves. For the poppies, I added some Coastal Cabana around the outer edges, and some Bermuda Bay around the center. Once that was almost dry, I added some Daffodil Delight around the center, which created the shades of green that you see. For all of the leaves, I used some Granny Apple Green around the edges, and added some Old Olive in the centers.

For some extra texture, I added some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, Whisper White Baker’s Twine, and some Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon. (I cut the ribbon vertically, and pulled out several strands of fiber.) For that little bit of bling, I sprinkled on several Iridescent Sequins and a couple of gold Metallic Pearls.

Wishing you creativity always,
