whimsical trees bundle – mini tutorial…

06.07.21…..Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I’m sharing a mini tutorial for projects that I recently created for the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page. With a touch of “shabby-chic” inspiration, I used the Whimsical Trees Bundle, Seasonal Labels Dies, and Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper to create my banner, card, and gift tag. By adding a variety of ribbon, along with the Subtle Shimmer Sequins, I stepped up the “shabby-chic” look just a bit more.

You can find these amazing products in the Stampin’ Up! 2021 July – December Mini Catalog. This holiday catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!

To view these projects, on the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page, you can go to: https://www.facebook.com/stampinup

The Whimsical Trees Bundle is so cute, and paring it with the Seasonal Labels Dies and the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper worked out perfectly! Of course, the Whimsical Trees Bundle would work wonderfully with a wide assortment of other holiday products from the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Mini Catalog, as well!

To create the trees, I started with Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and added a wash of color using my Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Pad and a Water Painter. After I dried the paper with a Heat Tool, I cut out the trees with one of the dies from the Whimsical Trees Bundle.

For the tree garland, I used Silver Foil Specialty Pack paper, along with a die from the Whimsical Tree Bundle.

(Tip: To give the Silver Foil Specialty Pack paper more of a vintage feel, use a nail buffing block to lightly sand the paper before die-cutting.)

The base for each layered label was created with two of the Seasonal Labels Dies, and two patterns of paper from the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper. I then used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the smaller label to the larger label.

(Tip: To make the labels a bit sturdier, die cut both of the labels a second time from Smoky Slate Cardstock, and adhered them underneath each of the original labels.)

To create the banner, I punched two small holes at the top of each label, threaded two strands of white Baker’s Twine (each approximately 24” long) through each of the labels, and tied a knot at each end.

I cut 4” lengths of Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, and Black Gingham Ribbon.

(Tip: Do not cut your pieces of ribbon much shorter than 4”, otherwise you will not able to tie them in a knot.)

Between each of the labels, and on each end of the banner, I tied 12 pieces of ribbon onto the Baker’s Twine. I used four pieces each of the three different ribbons, for a total of 48 pieces. Once all of the ribbon had been added, I trimmed off the ends of the ribbon to the desired length. (Tip: To create a fluffier banner, tightly push the ribbon pieces together.)

For a bit of shimmer, I tucked one of the Wonderful Snowflakes underneath the tree. After I popped up the tree with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I sprinkled on several Subtle Shimmer Sequins.

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Whimsical Trees Bundle. I heat-embossed it on Basic Black Cardstock, using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool, then cut it out with one of the Seasonal Labels Dies.

For my card and gift tag, I created two of the same layered labels that I used for the banner.

For the card, I started with Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and layered a slightly larger piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock underneath. I then used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to a Blushing Bride Cardstock base. For a fun bit of texture, I used 8” lengths of the three ribbons, and cut them in half vertically. After I folded the ribbon in half, I tied white Baker’s Twine around the bundle. I also sprinkled on several Subtle Shimmer Sequins.

For the gift tag, I punched a hole at the top of the label, then added some white Baker’s Twine for the hanger. To create the bow, I used 10” lengths of the three ribbons, cut them in half vertically, then trimmed the ends to the desired length.

Wishing you creativity always,

.
