stamping sunday blog hop – the weather man…

02.16.2025…..Happy Sunday, my stampin’ friends! For our Stamping Sunday Blog Hop this month, it is all about “the weather man”. From sunshine to rainbows, raindrops and puddles, anything “weather” is the focus of the inspiration!

I chose to create a sun with the Spring Corners Dies, but then transformed it into a sunflower, using one of the Textured Florals Dies to create the stem. For the heat-embossed sentiment, I used the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set (for the “hello”), and the retired Good Feelings Stamp Set (for the “sunshine”).

For this card, I started with Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. Next, I used a Water Painter to add Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green to Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. After I dried it with a Heat Tool, I tore off the bottom edge at an angle, and adhered it to the card base.

To create the sun, I used Blending Brushes to add Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry to Basic White Thick Cardstock, then cut out the pieces with the Spring Corners Dies. To create the stem, I used a Blending Brush to add Granny Apple Green to Basic White Thick Cardstock, then used a Water Painter to splatter water droplets. After I dried the paper with a Heat Tool, I used one of the Textured Floral Dies to cut out the stem.

For the heat-embossed sentiment, I used my Versamark Pad, White Embossing Powder, and Basic Black Cardstock. I used the Country Birdhouse Stamp Set (for the “hello”), and the retired Good Feelings Stamp Set (for the “sunshine”). For some extra texture, I created a bow with Black & White Large Check Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise) and White Baker’s Twine (with a few threads pulled out). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on embellishments from the 2024-2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems and the white sequins from the Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins (Sale-A-Bration).

Wishing you creativity always
