whimsical trees bundle – mini tutorial…

06.07.21…..Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I’m sharing a mini tutorial for projects that I recently created for the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page. With a touch of “shabby-chic” inspiration, I used the Whimsical Trees Bundle, Seasonal Labels Dies, and Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper to create my banner, card, and gift tag. By adding a variety of ribbon, along with the Subtle Shimmer Sequins, I stepped up the “shabby-chic” look just a bit more.

You can find these amazing products in the Stampin’ Up! 2021 July – December Mini Catalog. This holiday catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!

To view these projects, on the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page, you can go to: https://www.facebook.com/stampinup

#tgifc339 – happy halloween…

10.22.2021…..Happy Friday, my stampin’ friends! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week’s TGIF Challenge is “Technique Challenge”…using the trendy alcohol ink blending technique! Stampin’ Up! definitely jumped on this trend by bringing us a great Designer Series Paper that recreates the look – Expressions in Ink! In fact, if you aren’t quite ready to give this trend a try, grab a sheet of the paper to show off. If you aren’t familiar with how to do the alcohol blending technique, here are a few pointers…

Supplies: Stampin’ Blends Markers of your choice, Vellum Cardstock, Isoproypl Alcohol (99.9% strength if possible), Small Paint Brush, Ear Syringe Bulb (Optional), Heat Tool (Optional)

Start by adding small patches of color on the vellum cardstock. Dip your paint brush in the alcohol, and sparingly add tiny drops to the colored patches. The alcohol will cause the ink to spread, so go slowly. You can also use the ear syringe bulb to blow the ink around, so that you get even more of an organic feel. Once the vellum cardstock is dry (…a Heat Tool will come in handy for this), you can always repeat the process, adding more ink and more alcohol again. The best way to add the finished product to a project is to back it with Basic White Cardstock, using little dabs of Stampin’ Seal. Of course, once you start playing around with this fun technique, you’ll find other little tips and tricks that work for you as well.

This fun, unique technique is sure to inspire you and get those creative juices flowing! Hope this inspires to create to your heart’s content! We would love to see what you create!

case the cattie…

10.22.2021…..Hey everyone! Last week @stampinup shared a great tip on how to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) the Catalog. Simply pick a project you love, take one or two elements from it and get creative. Some #ArtisanDesignTeam friends and I want you to know this is a method we use too – it gets the creativity flowing! So today we’re sharing projects based on our favorite Stampin’ Up! Catalog samples!

And, here’s mine…created with the Whimsy & Wonder Suite, Stitched Snowflakes Dies, and the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. It was inspired by the “Let it Snow” card on Page 23 of the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Holiday Mini Catalog.

stampin’ fancy friday – color challenge…

10.20.2021…..Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today, I wanted to share a card that I created for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge! It is a “color” challenge…..using Real Red, Old Olive, and Coastal Cabana. That being said, Coastal Cabana is definitely one of my fav colors, so I was super excited about this color challenge. I used a Blending Brush to add it to the background, used Old Olive (along with a Water Painter) to color the trees, and for my touch of Real Red, I sprinkled on several of the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Created with the Whimsical Trees Bundle, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and Scalloped Contours Dies. Hope this color challenge inspires you to create a card or project with some of your favorite techniques and/or products!
