06.10.18… It’s such a beautiful day outside today…only 75 degrees. I know that summer is going to be here any day now (with temperatures climbing over 100º ), so I’m really grateful for this gorgeous weather!
This Spring-like weather really inspired me today, and I decided to make a card using the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. At first, I’d planned to use a couple of the beautiful floral prints from this collection. However, I ended up mixing things up a bit, and decided to use two of the background prints from the collection instead. That being said, this is what’s really cool about all of the Designer Series Paper. One side of each piece has a themed print, and the other side of each piece has an everyday pattern that can be used all year ’round. I used the Subtle Textured Impression Embossing Folder to embossing my Whisper White cardstock, and then using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the Crumb Cake card base. After layering my card with two pieces of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper, I added a wood frame from the Frames Elements (…love these!) and a bit of Mint Macaron Nature’s Twine. I heat embossed the sentiment (from the Botanical Bliss stamp set) using my Versamark Pad and Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then…I die cut it with one of the Stitched Labels Framelits. All that I needed was a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins for a bit of sparkle, and I was done!
TIP: When using more than one pattern of printed paper, use a variety of pattern sizes (i.e., a small, detailed pattern along with a larger and less defined patterned) for the best results. (If you use several small, detailed patterns, they will usually all tend to”blend” together, instead of standing out from one another.)
