best day ever…

01/04.2026…..It’s hard to believe that the New Year has begun! It has been a fun, but hectic holiday season…and it feels good to be back to stamping and creating. For my first card of the year, I decided to use the brand new Gears & Textures Bundle (available to customers beginning January 6th). It is such a fun bundle, and I decided to pair it with an unexpected color combo…..Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green. Hope this card inspires you to create a card or project with a new color combo as well!

For this card, I started with Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, embossed it with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Melon Mambo Cardstock base. To create the colorful background, I stamped several images from the Gears & Textures Bundle, using Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green. To make the colors “run”, I then sprayed the stamped images with a Stampin’ Spritzer. After I dried the paper with a Heat Tool, I added speckling with a Light Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Marker and a Dark Black Stampin’ Blends Marker.

To create all of the die cut shapes, I used several of the dies from the Gears & Textures Bundle. I also used a variety of papers….Basic Black Cardstock, Gold Foil Sheet (sanded with a nail buffer block), and Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper (watercolored with Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo). I used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies to cut out the “B” from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.

The sentiment (from the brand new Exploring Nature Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Embossing Powder. For some fun texture, I used White & Gold Baker’s Twine, with the fibers pulled apart. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Pearlized Faceted Circles, Antique Pearls, and Gold Shaker Stars.

Wishing you creativity always,
