05.12.18… I just received my box of pre-order items from the new 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Was I super excited…kind of like it was Christmas morning? Um…yeah! Are the new products absolutely amazing? You betcha! Did I waste any time before I started using all of my brand new, amazing goodies? That would be a “No”!
One of the new stamp sets I ordered was Detailed with Love. It’s such a wonderfully versatile set, and I couldn’t wait to start using it! I also decided to mix things up a bit, and make a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ square card.
I used Basic Black cardstock for the base, and added a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The new Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad was used with an Aqua Painter to watercolor the background on the Whisper White cardstock. A border stamp from the Detailed with Love set was stamped multiple times to created the patterned background, and then I added a bit of speckling with Crumb Cake ink. Two strips of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper were layered on top, for some extra pops of color. White Stampin’ Emboss Powder was used to heat emboss the sentiment (also from the Detailed with Love set) on Basic Black cardstock, and added some Gold Metallic Thread underneath.
To create the mini scalloped border, I die cut a scalloped square (using the Layering Square Framelits) from a Gold Foil Sheet, and trimmed off one edge of the square. Whisper White Polka Tulle Ribbon, along with a bit of Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon was used for the bow. Last, but definitely not least, I added a couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls and along with one of the new Tinted Faceted Buttons (…love these!). Life is definitely sweeter with friends….oh, and maybe a few Stampin’ Up! products along the way, too!
Tip: When you need a tiny scalloped border, die cut a larger scalloped square (using one of the Layering Squares Framelits), and trim off one edge (…or more) to create your border.
