07.04.18… I’m so excited about the Stampin’ Up 2018 Color Revamp! I’m having so much fun with the all of the new colors…..and many of my old favs that have returned, too! While I have to say that I’m naturally drawn to the Subtles Collection, I do like to mix Subtles with Brights, or Regals with Neutrals, or….y’all get the idea. That being said, today I was actually in the mood to mix things up. Petal Pink is one of my new favs in the Subtles collection, and Coastal Cabana has returned (…super excited about that!), and been added to the Brights Collection. Even though this card has a bit of a vintage feel, using both of these colors together adds a summery/beachy appeal as well.
To create this card, I used the small splatter stamp from the Timeless Textures set (along with my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder) to heat-emboss the background on the Petal Pink card base. I also used a small piece of a Stamping Sponge and my Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad to add some extra color to the background. The Striped Scallops Textured Impressions Folder was used with Whisper White Cardstock, and then die cut with one of the Layering Squares Framelits.
One of the Stitched Labels Framelits was used to cut out the doily shape from Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and then heat-embossed (using a stamp from the Detailed with Love set). The sentiment (also from the Detailed with Love set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, cut out, distressed, and then adhered with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also used my Aqua Painter along with the Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad to add a slight wash of color to the sentiment. For those ever-so-important details, I added a bit of Gold Metallic Thread, a couple of wood hearts (from the Frames Elements assortment), and a few of the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
TIP: If you stamp your sentiments on Whisper White (or Very Vanilla) cardstock, add a subtle wash of color (try not to cover the entire sentiment) to add an extra bit of contrast.
