I just love this little bird from the Botanical Bliss stamp set! So much so, that I decided to stamp it three times, and use it as part of my card design for the latest Global Design Project – Sketch Challenge (#GDP146).
Using the Striped Scallops Textured Impression Embossing Folder, I dry-embossed a piece of Soft Seafoam Cardstock, layered it with Basic Black Cardstock, and adhered it to a Whisper White card base. I stamped the bird three times…..with Petal Pink, Soft Seafoam, and Balmy Blue. After I die cut each bird with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits, I stamped a portion of the flower (also from the Botanical Bliss stamp set) on each square, using my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. I then speckled each square with a bit of Sahara Sand Ink, and adhere them with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Once again, I used my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad once to stamp the sentiment (from the All Things Thanks stamp set). After I cut out the sentiment, I added a bit of Silver Metallic Thread, and adhere it with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a bit of bling, so I added a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
TIP: Don’t be afraid to mix colors from the Subtles Collection (…think Petal Pink, Soft Seafoam) with Basic Black. Just be sure use the Basic Black in small doses, and use it to add a bit of detailed contrast.
