for my friend… (nature week – card #1)

08.06.18…..Even though it’s still the middle of summer (at least in Northern California), I’m really looking forward to Fall. Not only because the temperatures will be cooler (…yay!!!), but I just love all of the beautiful Autumn colors that nature gives us during that wonderful time of year! That being said, I went a little crazy, and created several cards using the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. Since I couldn’t decide which card to post, I decided to post them all in a series that I’m calling “Nature Week”. Yes, my stamping friends… because I’ve become obsessed with this gorgeous paper, I will be posting a new card each weekday this week (Monday – Friday). I hope you enjoy them!

For Card #1, I dry embossed Petal Pink Cardstock (with the Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Embossing Folder), layered it with Whisper White Cardstock, and layered it onto a Crumb Cake card base. I cut out a large flag from the Nature’s Poem paper, and layered it on top. One of the Stitched Shapes Framelits was used to cut an oval piece of the Nature’s Poem paper, then layered with a Whisper White scalloped oval (using one of the Layering Ovals Framelits, and adhered with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Botanical Bliss stamp set, I heat-embossed the sentiment on Basic Black Cardstock (using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Versamark Pad), then adhered it with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For those extra little details, I added a Linen Thread bow, a few Metallic Sequins, and a couple of wooden hearts from the Frames Elements assortments.
