08.04.18…..Although I’ve never actually been to a garden party, I’ve always thought it would be such a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! When I hear the phrase “garden party”, I think of roses, bouquets, and everything pink…..and that, my friends, was the inspiration for this card. Once I had my inspiration, I immediately knew that I had to use the “oh-so-colorful” Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper.
After I dry-embossed the Whisper White Cardstock (using the Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I adhered a piece of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. I used Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Versamark Pad to add the floral image (from the Botanical Bliss stamp set). I then added a layer of Petal Pink Cardstock, added a Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle bow, and adhere the panel to a Whisper White Cardstock base (using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals).
Using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my Versamark Pad again, I heat-embossed the sentiment (from the Treat Time stamp set), die cut it with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. An Aqua Painter and my Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad was used to add a light wash of color over the embossed sentiment. Underneath, I added a Gold Foil scalloped circle (die cut with one of the Layering Circles Framelits) , and adhere it with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some extra bling, I added some Gold Metallic Thread, a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, and a couple of Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
TIP: The heat-embossing technique is not just for solid cardstock. Don’t be afraid to use it on patterned paper as well.
