10.28.18…..While this is the time of year that we always focus on being thankful, I think we would all agree that the best time of year to be thankful is…..always! That being said, I started this card with the “Thanks” sentiment, which had ended up in a corner of my craft table (along with several bits and pieces that I ended up not using on other projects). I challenged myself to “repurpose” some of those bits and pieces, and pulled them together to create this card. I hope this card inspires you to do the same!
The “repurposed” background was created with the Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Whisper White Cardstock, and layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock. Added in the mix were two strips of Country Lane Designer Series Paper, along with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle, also die cut from the same paper. Linen Thread was tied around the layered panel, and then adhered to the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock base with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The “Thanks” sentiment is from the Window Shopping stamp set (which was just recently retired), but you could easily substitute another word or phrase from a current stamp set. It was embossed using a Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, on Basic Black Cardstock, and adhered with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped “You’re the Best” (from the P.S. You’re the Best stamp set) on Whisper White Cardstock with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. After cutting apart the words, I also adhered them with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my last couple of details, I added in scalloped border (from the Frames Elements) and a Galvanized Clip.
