09.09.2018….. This weekend just about slipped away from me! I can’t believe it’s already Sunday afternoon, and I wanted to make sure that I shared this card with you before the weekend was completely over. I truly love every color that Stampin’ Up! has to offer, but I’m especially fond of the Subtles color collection. The soothing, pastel shades really speak to me!
Using an Aqua Painter and my Petal Pink Classic Stampin’ Pad, I added a wash of color to a piece Shimmery White Cardstock. I layered it with Soft Seafoam Cardstock, and used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the Gray Granite card base. Using one of the Celebrate You Thinlits, I die cut “amazing” from a Silver Foil Sheet, and layered it with a small strip of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper. The tiny “friend” sentiment (from the A Good Day stamp set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using a Versamark Pad and Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
Before I completely adhered the strip to the card, I tucked a few little surprises underneath…..Silver Metallic Thread, Silver Mini Sequin Trim, and a few Vellum Cardstock leaves. (The leaves were punched out using the Sprig Punch (from the NEW Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog), as well as the Leaf Punch. I couldn’t resist adding just a bit more bling, so I sprinkled in a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels and a sequin the Metallics Sequins Assortment.
TIP: Next time you decide to watercolor, try using Shimmery White Cardstock along with an Aqua Painter and your favorite color medium (…think Classic Stampin’ Pads, Classic Ink Refills, Watercolor Pencils, and Brusho Crystals). This beautiful paper has a nice smooth texture, is a bit thicker, and has that lovely shimmer, too!
