03.24.19…..Happy Sunday everyone! We’ve still been having some lingering winter weather this past week, but today we had another wonderful Spring day! Once again, this beautiful weather has inspired me to create a Spring-themed card. And…..what a better way to gather some extra inspiration than from this week’s Global Design Project – Color Challenge (#GDP181). This week’s color trio was Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, and Daffodil Delight. Such a bright, cheery combo……love, love, love!!!
For the background, I used the Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Folder was used to emboss a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and then adhered it to some Daffodil Delight Cardstock. I die cut three bunches of stems (using the Well Written Framelits) from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, added some Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon, as well as a bit of Linen Thread. The entire panel was adhered to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base, using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To create the little flowers, I used both Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove Cardstock, along two of the punches from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. For each flower, I used the punch with the curved petals for the outer part of the flower, and the punch with semi-pointed petals for the inside of the flower. I distressed each flower quite a bit, and even used my Paper-Piercing Tool to pull apart the layers just a little. (Hope this all makes sense!) I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the flower layers together, as well as to adhere each of them to the card base.
The sentiment (from the Detailed with Love set) was heat-embossed on Crumb Cake Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. For those extra little details, I sprinkled on a couple of Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons, along with a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.
