05.05.19…..The latest Paper Pumpkin kit (Sentimental Rose), has such a versatile stamp set, as well as beautifully designed cards, elements, and accessories. I’ve really enjoyed making several projects from this “rosy” kit!
I absolutely love the gorgeous “Distinktive” flower stamp that is included in this kit, so I thought I would combine it with some other fun Stampin’ Up products and accessories. While Stampin’ Up has sooooooo many wonderful bundles, suites, paper and accessories that are specially designed to be used together, I also truly enjoy “cross-coordinating” and mixing different styles and themes together with one another. And that, my stamping friends, is the inspiration for this card…..
For the card, I used the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder (…one of my favs!) to dry emboss some Whisper White Cardstock, and layered with another piece of the same cardstock. I then added a strip of Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper, a Linen Thread bow, and then adhered the entire panel to a Crumb Cake Cardstock base, using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the flower (from the Sentimental Rose Paper Pumpkin kit) in Poppy Parade on Whisper White Cardstock, and used my Aqua Painter to gently blend a subtle wash of color throughout the flower. (For those of you who may be wondering, it looks like I may have used Petal Pink to color the rest of the flower, but it is actually just the Aqua Painter that has acutally diluted the Poppy Parade ink.)
TIP: If you are using your Aqua Painter with regular Whisper White Cardstock (instead of Watercolor Paper), but sure to make just one pass over the paper as you are completing each brushstroke. Otherwise, you’ll notice that the paper will start to breakdown, “bubble” and become fuzzy.
After I stamped leaves (also from the same Paper Pumpkin kit) in Old Olive, I die cut the paper with one of the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. To add some speckling, I used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker, and flicked the thick end of the marker against the marker cap. After I adhered the flower with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals, I tucked in a tiny strip of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper (die cut with one of the Be Mine Stitched Framelits) under the bottom edge.
The sentiments (from the Well Said stamp set) were heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the words, I popped them up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For those last little details, I sprinkled on a Needlepoint Nook Mini Button, and Pearl and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
