Paper Pumpkin - Sentimental Rose Banner by Tammy C. Wilson04.28.19…..Happy Sunday, my stampin’ friends!  Those of you that follow my blog know that I really enjoy creating cards, but I absolutely love creating home decor projects as well.  That being said, I decided to use this month’s Sentimental Rose Paper Pumpkin kit to create this floral, shabby-chic inspired banner.  The pre-printed images in this Paper Pumpkin kit are absolutely wonderful!  The roses and flowers are beautifully detailed, and the watercolor-inspired layering cards base add such a pretty pastel effect.

You’ll also want to check out my Sentimental Rose post, to see the shabby chic projects that I created with this kit as well.

I used three of the card bases to create the flag in the center, as well the flags on each end.  The two smaller flags in the were created with the layering card fronts.

Paper Pumpkin - Sentimental Rose Banner - Best Wishes by Tammy C. Wilson

For the Best Wishes flag, I die cut one of the So Saffron Cards bases with one of the Layering Oval Framelits.  Layered on top is one of the floral layering card fronts, which was die cut with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The sentiment is embossed on one of the small pre-cut labels, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Tucked underneath is one of the pre-cut corrugated labels.  For my extra bit of bling, I added some Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Gold Metallic Thread, a few Metallic Sequins, and one of the Tinted Faceted Buttons.

For the second flag, I added a small strip of one of the So Saffron card bases, and added a scallop at the bottom (using one of the Be Mine Stitched Framelits).  I used one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the rose from one of the layering card fronts, and popped it up with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tucked underneath the rose is a pre-cut corrugated label, and a small patterned strip (cut from one of the card bases).  For my extra bit of bling, I sprinked on a few Metallic Sequins, and a couple of the Tinted Faceted Buttons.

For the center flag, I used the back (solid white panel) of one of the card bases to die cut the doily, using one of the Stitched Label Framelits.  I added the pre-cut leaves and large flower (which I popped up with a few Stampin Dimensionals).  For my extra bit of bling, I added some Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Gold Metallic Thread, a few Metallic Sequins, and one of the Tinted Faceted Buttons.

For the fourth flag,  I added a small strip of one of the So Saffron card bases, and then a large strip from one of the layering card fronts.  I added a scallop to the bottom of both strips, using one of the Be Mine Stitched Framelits).  I also added a third strip of patterned paper (cut from one of tbe card bases.  For my extra bit of bling, I sprinked on a few Metallic Sequins, and a couple of the Tinted Faceted Buttons.

Paper Pumpkin - Sentimental Rose - Happy Birthday by Tammy C. Wilson

For the Happy Birthday flag, I added a large horizontal strip from one of the So Saffron card bases, and added a scallop at the bottom (using one of the Be Mine Stitched Framelits).  I die cut a scalloped circle (using one of the Layering Circle Framelits). The sentiment is embossed on one the small pre-cut labels, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  To pop up the label, I used a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For my extra bit of bling, I added some Gold Mini Sequin Trim, Gold Metallic Thread, a few Metallic Sequins, and one of the Tinted Faceted Buttons.

To assemble the banner, I punched a hole of both of the top corners of each flag (using the 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch), and then used a the white baker’s twine (also included in the kit) to string the flags together.  To add more of the shabby-chic feel, I cut six (6) small strips each of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon, and Gold Mini Sequin Ribbon.  I added one strip of each in between each flag, and at each end of the flags as well.
