08.16.19…..Happy Friday everyone! I am beyond thrilled to share this card with you today, as this is my first post as a member of the TGIF Challenges Design Team! It goes without saying that I am soooooo excited to to be a part of this amazingly talented group of designers! Hope you have a chance to play along with us today!
For today’s TGIF Inspiration Challenge ( #TGIFC225), we are featuring cards that are “all on black”. I absolutely love this challenge!!! I tend to use white or more subtle backgrounds, so it really challenged me to think outside of the box!
I started with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder with some Basic Black Cardstock. I then used one of the Stitched Shapes Dies to die cut the square window. Underneath the window is a small piece of Whisper White Cardstock, with bit of texture added (using the crosshatch background from the Stitched Labels Dies). To add a bit of color, I used my Aqua Painter along with Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana. I also used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. (To create the speckling, I used the thick end of the marker and “flicked” it against the marker cap.) Once I was done, I used several Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere my Basic Black Cardstock to the Whisper White Cardstock, and made sure to line up my window exactly where I wanted it. I then adhered the entire panel to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base, and distressed all of the edges.
The sentiments (from the Well Said stamp set) were stamped on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. After I cut out the sentiments, and distressed them just a bit, and adhered them with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I love adding a mix of ribbon, twine, and thread to my projects, and this card was definitely no exception! For the bundled bow, I used Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise and pulled apart), Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise) and Whisper White Baker’s Twine (with a few strands pulled apart). For just a little touch of bling, I sprinkled on a Basic Adhesive Backed Sequin, a Woven Threads Sequin, and a Glitter Enamel Dot.
