For today’s post, I wanted to design a card as well as a fun, little 3D item! So…..I also decided to also add a flower arrangement to a tiny milk can, which I found at a local craft store.

Let’s start with the “Congratulations” card….

Artisan February 2020 - Peaceful Poppies - Card by Tammy C. Wilson

I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base.  On top of that, I added a some Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. I also used my Aqua Painter and my Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad to randomly add an ever so subtle
blush” in just a few spots on the DSP(It may be just a bit hard to see in this photo.)

I then stamped the poppies (from the Painted Poppies Bundle) on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Tuxedo Black Momento Pad.  I used my Aqua Painter again to color the poppies with Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, and Old  Olive.  Once the paper was dry I added some speckling with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap). After I adhere it to the card base, I layer a torn piece of Vellum Cardstock on top.

I also added some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, and shredded a bit of it, to add a some extra texture.  For some sparkle, I added a little strip of Sparkle Glimmer Paper, which was cut out with on the dies from the Painted Poppies Bundle.  The sentiment (from Peaceful Moments Bundle) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my  Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  After I cut it out, I adhered it with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

Next up is the little milk can…

I started with a strip of Peaceful Poppies DSP, and adhered it around the center of the milk can.  I also used my Aqua Painter and my Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pad to randomly add an ever so subtle blush” in just a few spots on the DSP(It may be just a bit hard to see in this photo.)

I then used one of the dies, from the Painted Poppies Bundle, to die cut the Whisper White label and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  I adhered a 1/8″ diameter wooden dowel on the back (wrapped with Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon), and glued the dowel to the inside of the milk can.  For the bow, I added more Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, and shredded a bit of it, to add a some extra texture.

For the flower, I used a large flower die from the Peaceful Moments Bundle, and a smaller coordinating flower die from the Painted Poppies Bundle.  I die cut both flower from some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and used my Aqua Painter (along with Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade) to color them.  Once the paper was dry I added some speckling with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap). After I adhered the flowers together, I created the center of the flower with two of the little dies from Peaceful Moments Bundle, and a bit of Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstock.

For the leaves, I used another die from the Peaceful Moments Bundle, along with a bit of Old Olive Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a couple of the Peaceful Poppies Sequins.

  1. Beautiful detailing! I almost missed seeing the plank embossed label in behind the sentiment! Your generous use of the ribbon adds a touch of luxury too. I thought the torn strip of vellum in the card was another little touch of genius. 🙂
