04.18.20…..Happy Saturday, everyone! I just love to watercolor, and I’ll use any excuse to incorporate that into my projects! That being said, I used a watercolor technique, along with my Butterfly Duet Punch and the Praiseworthy Prose Stamp set to create this card! Hope you enjoy it!
For this card, I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Balmy Blue Cardstock base. To create the watercolored background, To watercolor the background (on a full size piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper), I used my Aqua Painter…..along with Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue. After I was done watercoloring, I misted the paper just a bit with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper. I then trimmed the paper down to the size I wanted for the background, and layered a slightly larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock underneath. I then used extra watercolored paper (that I trimmed off previously) to punch out several small butterflies with my Butterfly Duet Punch. I also popped up the butterflies with several Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment (from the Praiseworthy Prose Stamp Set) was stamped with Gray Granite, and cut out with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. After I embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, I popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. I decided that this card needs lots of bling, so I sprinkled on several of the Woven Threads Sequins.
Wishing you creativity always,
