04.19.20…..Happy Sunday, my stampin’ friends! Yesterday, I posted a card that I created using some little watercolored butterflies that I punched out with my Butterfly Duet Punch. So…..I had one little butterfly leftover that I couldn’t bear to part with, and I decided that I just had to use it some how! That being said, I not only used that little butterfly for this card, but I also used some other bits and pieces that I had leftover from other projects. Hope this card inspires you to use up your bits and pieces, too!
(Before I start, I wanted to mention that the only new pieces that I ended up cutting out for this card were the Vellum Cardstock scalloped square and the piece of Whisper White Cardstock that I layered underneath the Pool Party background. Yes…I actually had a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base already cut out!)
For this card, I started with a piece of Pool Party Cardstock, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. After I layered a slightly larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock underneath, I used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I then cut out a small Whisper White square (using one of the Stitched Shapes Dies), and layered a Vellum Cardstock scalloped square (cut out with one of the Layering Squares Dies) underneath. Before I popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I tucked some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon underneath.
The sentiment (from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then punched out a large butterfly (using my Butterfly Duet Punch), I embossed it with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder and popped it up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Layered on top of that is my little watercolored butterfly (also punched out with the Butterfly Duet Punch. (For details on how I created the little butterfly, please visit yesterday’s post.) For just a bit of bling, I added a couple of Iridescent Sequins to the center of the butterfly.
Wishing you creativity always,

Usually, the pine wood planks embossing folder is used more rustically. By embossing Pool Party CS you totally changed the perception . Then you further softened it with the light hearted way you presented the white ribbon. Thanks for showing me another way to use the pine wood planks embossing folder. I love the total feel of the card!
