stampin’ up! artisan design team blog hop – Time for Tags & Tropical Oasis

ADT May 2020 - Time for Tags - Tammy C. Wilson (watermark)05.14.20…..Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope everyone’s had a chance to squeeze in at least a bit of stamping and papercrafting this week!  If you’re already hopping along with us today, you probably just came from Stesha’s blog.  Aren’t her projects gorgeous!?!  If you’ve just started your hop, the Artisan Design Team is featuring projects created with the retiring host sets (from the current 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog) that you can only purchase with the Stampin’ Rewards you earn with a qualifying order.  We are also featuring some extra projects created to use as gifts for your host (if you’re a demonstrator) or… to give to a friend, family member or co-worker.  The team has some absolutely amazing projects to inspire you today, and you will not want to miss a single one!

Today, I’m sharing a greeting card (created with the Time for Tags Stamp Set), along with a host gift that I created with the Timeless Tropical Bundle and the Mini Pizza Box. I’ve also included complete instructions underneath each project, so you can scroll right to the project that suits your fancy and start creating!

Don’t forget that if you host a party (with $150+ in sales), you can earn Stampin’ Rewards to purchase the Time for Tags Stamp Set for FREE! How cool is that?!?!

Please note

The Time for Tags Stamp Host Stamp Set will be retiring on June 2, 2020!  Host a party or place your order as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on earning the Time for Tags Stamp Set!

Time for Tags by Tammy C. WilsonFor my “Welcome Friend” card, I started with a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock, embossed it with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, layered some Whisper White Cardstock underneath, and used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base.

To create the colorful background, I used a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, along with my Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers.  I misted the paper just a bit with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), and used the Each time that I was ready to stamp the pineapple (from the Time for Tags Stamp Set), I colored it with the three Stampin’ Write Markers, tapped it slightly on a damp paper towel…and then stamped it on the paper. I also used my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water) to added a few spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  I then used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling, by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap.  Tucked underneath the background is a bit of Whisper White Cardstock, cut out with one of the Ornate Layers Dies.

Time for Tags by Tammy C. Wilson (zoom)I created a tag using the Timeless Label Punch (along with some Whisper White Cardstock), and embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I also punched out a second tag (using the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper), and tucked that underneath. To create the little pineapple, I used the same technique as I did for the background, only I was careful to use a paper towel that was just barely damp. (I also did not used my Stampin’ Spritzer.)  After I cut out the pineapple, I popped it up with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment (also from the Time for Tags Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  After I cut it out, I popped up with a few  Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For some extra texture, I added a few strands of Whisper White Baker’s Twine and some Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon (cut in half vertically).  To add just a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Iridescent Sequins.

Next up is the host gift I created, using the Mini Pizza Box, along with some 3″ 3″ notecards and envelopes…

Timeless Tropical - Mini Pizza Box - Host GiftFor the Mini Pizza Box

I started with a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock, embossed it with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, layered some Whisper White Cardstock underneath, and adhered it to the Mini Pizza Box. I then used one of the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out a circle from Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I also added a small strip of Tropical Oasis DSP on top of that.  For some extra texture, I added a few strands of Whisper White Baker’s Twine and some Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon (cut in half vertically).

Timeless Tropical - Mini Pizza Box

The palm trees (from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) were heat-embossed on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then used my Aqua Painter (along with Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizzazz) to add a wash of color, and used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling (by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).  After I cut out the palm trees with the coordinating die (from the Timeless Tropical Bundle), I popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment (also from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) was heat-embossed on a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and popped up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For just a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Iridescent Sequins.

For the 3″ x 3″ notecards and envelopes…

Timeless Tropical - 3 x 3 cardsThe palm trees (from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) were heat-embossed on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then used my Aqua Painter (along with Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizzazz) to add a wash of color, and added a few spritzes of water with my Stampin’ Spritzer. After I dried the paper with my Heat Tool, I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling (by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).  I then cut out the paper with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies, I added some Melon Mambo Cardstock underneath, and adhered it to a 3″ x 3″ Whisper White Thick Cardstock base.  The sentiment (also from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) was heat-embossed on a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and popped up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For each 3″ x 3″ Whisper White Envelope, I colored the palm tree (from the Timeless Tropical Bundle) with my Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers, and stamped it directly on the envlelope. I then used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling (by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).
