07.04.2020…..Happy 4th of July and welcome to the weekend, everyone! Today, I decided to create a card with with the new Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set, from the brand new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! This new catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!
For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. After I layered a slightly large piece of cardstock underneath, I used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a Basic Black Cardstock base.
I used a small strip of Shimmery White Cardstock, and embossed the hearts (from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set), using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
Next, I lightly misted it the cardstock with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water). I then used one of my Water Painters…along with Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and HIghland Heather…to add a wash of color. I misted the paper just a bit more with my Stampin’ Spritzer, then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a bit more color, and few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper. To add the extra little water spots, I dipped my fingertips in a bit of water, and “flicked” them above the paper. This time, I let the paper dry on it’s own, and did not use my heat tool. Once the paper was dry, I tore the bottom edge and adhered it to the card base.
The sentiment (also from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Woven Threads Sequins.
