#tgifc297 – you are the best…

01.01.2021…..Happy Friday and Happy New Year, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! We’re starting off this new year with a classic Black & White Color Challenge. I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, over at TGIF Challenges. We would love to see what you create!

For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic Black Cardstock base. I then used some True Love Designer Series Paper (from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! January – June 2020 Mini Catalog) , layered Whisper White Cardstock underneath, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the next layer, I stamped the branches (from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I then embossed the cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, and gave it a bit of extra interest by leaving the bottom edge unembossed. Underneath that, I layered more Whisper White Cardstock, which I cut out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, and popped it up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment (also from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some fun texture, I added some of the Black/White Baker’s Twine (from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack), and separated the two colors before I added it to the card. For a subtle bit of bling, I added several of the Matte Black Dots (from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! January – June 2020 Mini Catalog).
