#tgifc237 – sketch challenge – perfectly plaid

11.08.19…..Happy Friday, everyone!  Believe it or not, it’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week, we have a Sketch Challenge for you.  Since this sketch is perfect for just about any type of card, I decided to pair it with the Perfectly Plaid Bundle.  I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, over at TGIF Challenges.  We would love to see what you create!

For this week’s card, I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder.  Underneath, I layered a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, and then used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the entire panel to a Crumb Cake Cardstock base.  I then adhered two pieces of Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper to a smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I also added a tiny, horizontal strip of Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper, and notched it at both ends.

The trees (from the Perfectly Plaid Bundle) were heat-embossed on Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I then used the coordinating Pine Tree Punch (also from the Perfectly Plaid Bundle) to punch out each tree, and popped them up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used my Versamark Pad again, along with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, to heat emboss the sentiment (also from the Perfectly Plaid Bundle) on Whisper White Cardstock. To added an extra bit of detail, I used one of the a die, from the Stitched Be Mine Dies, to add a tiny border underneath the sentiment.  After I cut out the sentiment, I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker, to add some speckling (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap), and popped it up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For some fun texture, I added Linen Thread and a bit of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  For that little bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Snowflake Sequins, a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and a couple of Designer Elements.
