04.07.18… It’s always nice to have extra birthday cards on hand, especially if you have younger children. When my kids were in elementary school (they are now 25 and 28 years old), it seemed like there was a birthday party every other weekend! You’ll want to make this card in multiples, and you’ll be ready to “grab-n-go” whenever those parties popup!
Flirty Flamingo cardstock was used for the base. I used the Polka Dots Basics embossing folder with Peekaboo Peach cardstock, and then added a pop of yellow with a strip of Tutti-Fruitti Designer Series Paper .
The”Make a Wish”sentiment (from the Window Shopping stamp set)was stamped with Flirty Flamingo.
I cut out the sentiment, layered it onto a Stitched Shapes Framelits square, and then a Layering Squares Framelits scalloped square. (The sentiment and scalloped square were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.) For those “little extras”, I used 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon in Daffodil Delight, 1/8″ Sheer Whisper White Ribbon, Linen Thread, a a couple of Hearts & Stars Elements. With just a little touch of “bling”, using a few Tutti-Fruitti Sequins, I was done. Time to get the party started!
TIP: Change the color combination of this card (…think Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy…) to create a “boys” version of this card. Substitute the “hearts” for “stars”, and use 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon instead of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White ribbon.
