a birthday thank you…

All Things Thanks - Birthday Thank You by Tammy C. Wilson

04.22.18… I’ve always thought that it’s so convenient to have extra birthday cards on hand.  However….I think it’s even more important to have thank you cards made ahead of time as well.  How many times have you received a gift from a friend, and then thought…..I really don’t need to send them a thank you card, because I’ve already told them “thanks”.  And besides…who doesn’t love to receive a handmade card…no matter what the occassion!

For this fun, trendy card, I used a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, layered onto Whisper White cardstock, along with a Crumb Cake cardstock base. I added a strip ofWhole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, a bowcreated with 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon in Soft Sky, a bit of linen thread, and a tiny bit of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim.

A small piece of cardstock was embossed with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, die cut a circle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits,  then layered onto a scalloped circle (using the Layering Circles Framelits).  The sentiment is stamped with phrase from the All Things Thanks stamp set…cut out, distressed, and adhered with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Those adorable little Crushed Curry flowers were die cut using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits, distressed, and popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  For my “signature” touch of bling, I added a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels…and a Clear Faceted Gem.

TIP:  For a card that’s a bit more elegant, use a background paper with some bling (…think Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper) and heat emboss the sentiment using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
