08.18.18….. Welcome to the weekend, my stampin’ friends! I had planned to make this card last month, around the Fourth of July, but I got busy working on other projects and just never got around it. Better late than never, right? While I used a patriotic color combo on this card, it’s a unique birthday card for any time of year!
I dry embossed a Silver Foil Sheet, using the Subtle Embossing Folder (…one of my favs!), and adhered it to a Whisper White card base. Using my Aqua Painter, I added water to a piece of Watercolor Paper. I then sprinked on two colors of Brusho Crystal Colour (Prussian Blue and Brillant Red). Using my Aqua Painter again, I swirled the color around, yet left some the the “sprinkes” unblended, to add some extra texture.
The background was heat-embossed, using a Versamark Pad, Silver Stampin’ Emboss, and a stamp from the Timeless Textures set. I added a layer of Night of Navy Cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. I also heat-embossed the sentiment (from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set) on Whisper White Cardstock, and die cut it with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Before adhering it with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I tucked in some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and a bit of Silver Metallic Thread. For a little more bling, I added a Clear Faceted Gem, along with a couple of Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
TIP: To add some extra WOW to your project, pair two (…or more) techniques together. Think Brusho Color Crystals and heat-embossing…dry-embossing and watercoloring…heat-embossing and Stampin’ Blends. The possibilities are endless!
