three little roosters (#gdp177)…

Update (02.25.19)…..This morning, I was excited to find out that my rooster card was one of the winners for this week’s Global Design Project #177 (#GDPwinner).

02.24.19…..Good evening, stampers! Just a few blog posts ago, I posted my three little roosters card (using the SAB Home to Roost stamp set). I have to say, I really loved its fun, whimsical colors! That being said, this week’s Global Design Project #177 was a color challenge…..using Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green. So…..I figured why not incorporate that color combo into one more rooster card. So, here you go my friends…

For this card, I used the Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Whisper White Cardstock, and added to a Crumb Cake Cardstock base. I also added a piece of the SAB Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.

Using Whisper White Cardstock again, I stamped three roosters (from the SAB Home to Roost stamp set), using a Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. I used my Aqua Painter to add color to each one, using Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green. (This color combo is the Color Challenge for the Global Design Project #177). To create the speckles, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, “flicking” the thick end of the marker on the edge of the marker cap. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the roosters, and then added the sentiment (also from the Home to Roost set) which was stamped on Crumb Cake Cardstock. Before I adhered the roosters with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I tucked some Bermuda Bay 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon underneath. For just a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
