06.20.19…..Hope y’all are having a wonderful Thursday! Here in Northern California, it’s been a gorgeous last day of Spring…..80 degrees and clear, blue skies. I’m doing my best to soak it all in, as I know those 100+ degree days are just around the corner!
In my opinion, there is never “not” a good time to let those special people know how grateful you are to have them in your life. Who doesn’t like to know that someone appreciates them? That being said, the new To a Wild Rose Bundle is just perfect to create all of those cards and projects to celebrate those treasured friendships. I am also participating in the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge (#GDP194) this week, so I thought this bundle would be just perfect to use for my card!
To create this card, I started with a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Crumb Cake Cardstock base. I used a thin strip of Woven Threads Designer Series Paper (along with the one of the Stitched Be Mine Dies) to create the scalloped border near the bottom of the card. and then layered a larger strip of Woven Threads Designer Series Paper on top.
The flowers (from the To a Wild Rose Bundle, were stamped in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White Cardstock, and then cut out using one of the dies from the same bundle. I also added some speckling to the flowers, using my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the edge of the marker cap.) Before I adhered the middle flower with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I wrapped some Linen Thread around the card a few times.
I used Crumb Cake Cardstock (along with one of the Stitched Nested Label Dies) to create the tag. To add a subtle pattern to the tag, I used my Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad and the leaf stamp (from the To a Wild Rose Bundle). After I distress the tag just a bit, I punched a tiny hole in the corner, added a couple of pieces of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, and then tied a bow with the Linen Thread. The sentiments (also from the To a Wild Rose Bundle) were stamped on Basic Black Cardstock (using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder), cut out, and popped up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For those last little details, I sprinkled on a couple of new In-Color Faceted Dots, along with a few Pearl Basic Jewels.
The NEW 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog is chockful of so many wonderful products! Okay, let’s be honest…..it is absolutely overflowing with some of the most amazing products ever! Watch the video above and get your creative juices flowing!
