08.02.19…..Happy Friday, my stampin’ friends! It is really August already? Really??? Where did June and July go? Nevertheless, no matter what month of the year it is, it is always a good time to stamp! And….there is never not a good time to let someone know how much you appreciate them! That being said, I created the thank you card, using another watercolor background technique, which by the way I seem to be a little obsessed with at the moment. Hope you enjoy it!
I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. After I layered it with a piece of Subtles Designer Series Paper, I adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base.
Using the Botanical Bliss stamp set (along with Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz, and Balmy Blue), I stamped the flowers, leaves, and bird on a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I then used my Aqua Painter (along with the three colors above) to add light washes of color on top of the stamped images. A few of the images became too “washed out”, but I just reinked my stamp(s) and stamped the image(s) again, while the paper was still wet. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper, before adhering it to the card. To add a bit more of that shabby chic feel, I also distressed all of the paper, along the edges.
The sentiment (also from the Praiseworthy Prose Bundle) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and popped up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tucked underneath is a bit of Scalloped Lace Trim, Rose Metallic Thread, and Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon. (The Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon was cut in half lengthwise, and shredded just a bit. To create the ruffles, I added a couple of small strips of Tear and Tape Adhesive. As I created little folds in the ribbon, I adhered it to the tape.) For my bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few Woven Threads Sequins, a couple of gold Metallic Pearls, Glitter Enamel Dots, and a gold Designer Element.
Wishing you creativity always,
