Very Versailles by Tammy C. Wilson

08.05.19…..Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I’m sharing the card that I created as my Guest Designer Color Challenge card, over at the Global Design Project (#GDP201) this week. The color combo for this challenge is Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot, and Pretty Peacock. I’ve been using a lot of subtle color combos lately. So…. it was a fun change to design a card using these rich, fall colors…..along with the Very Versailles stamp set!

To create this card, I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and used my Craft Stampin’ Pad (inked with White White pigment ink) along with a Stamping Sponge add a subtle wash of color to the frame. After I adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base, I layered on some Merry Merlot Cardstock and Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. I then used the Very Versailles stamp set, to stamp the “script” in Pretty Peacock, and the leaves in Mossy Meadow (“stamped off” once). After I cut it out with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies, I embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I also used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. (To create the speckling, I used the thick end of the marker and “flicked” it against the marker cap.) Tucked underneath the top and bottom edges of the rectangle is a tiny scalloped Vellum Cardstock, die cut with one of the Stitched Be Mine Dies.

The sentiment (also from the Very Versailles stamp set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut it out, I used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker again to add some speckling. I also distressed it quite a bit, and adhered it with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. (I distressed most of the other cardstock and DSP as well.)

After I punched out the Merry Merlot butterfly (using the Butterfly Duet Punch), I embossed it with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder, and used my Craft Stampin’ Pad (inked with White White pigment ink) once again, to add a subtle wash of color. I also used the Butterfly Duet Punch (along with a bit of Woven Threads DSP) to punch out the small butterfly. For those extra little details, I added some distressed Braided Linen Trim, and also sprinked on a few Gold Metallic Pearls and a gold Designer Element.

Wishing you creativity always,
