Peaceful Moments - In the Woods by Tammy C. Wilson (watermark)04.06.20…..Happy Monday, my stampin’ friends!  Today, I was in the mood to do a bit of watercoloring, but I also want to do a bit of die-cutting too!  So…I decided to pull out my In The Woods Dies, which is a Winter-themed die set.  However, I thought it would be fun to create card using this die set, only with bright pops of color.  That being said, this card is the result of that!  Hope you enjoy it!

For this card, I started with piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  After I layered some Crumb Cake Cardstock underneath, I used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I then used one of the Ornate Layers Dies to cut out a small strip of Whisper White Cardstock, and used my Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin’ Pad, along with a Stamping Sponge, to add just a bit of subtle color.

To create the leaves, I used a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, along with my Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral Classic Stampin’ Pads. I then misted the paper with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  Once the paper was dry. I added some speckling with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker (by flicking the thick end of the marker against the marker cap).  I then cut out several leaves, using one of the In The Woods Dies.

Once I adhered all of the leaves, I added a Vellum Cardstock scalloped oval, which I cut out with one of the Layering Ovals Dies.  I then heat-embossed the sentiment (from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set) on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also added a quick wash of color over a couple of the words, using my Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin’ Pad along with my Aqua Painter. After I cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.   To create the bow, I used some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, Linen Thread, and a bit of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  For a bit a bling, I sprinkled on a few Gold Faceted Gems and a couple of gold Metallic Pearls.

Wishing you creativity always,

  1. Hi Tammy – as ethereal as ever – so lovely. May I ask, did you use your ink pads direct to paper for the watercolour piece, or did you use reindeers? Or??
