05.09.20…..Happy Saturday, everyone! This afternoon, I decided to pull out another favorite stamp set of mine that I hadn’t used in awhile….Piece of Cake! It is such a cute set, and so versatile for so many different occasions and celebrations! The possibilities are endless! However, the Piece of Cake Stamp Set and coordinating Cake Builder Punch are retiring on June 2, 2020…along with lot of other wonderful stamp sets and products! So….if you don’t already have this stamp set, you’ll want to order it right away!
For this card, I started with a piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock, embossed it with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. On top of that, I added a smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock (embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder), and another slighty large piece of Whisper White Cardstock underneath it. I then used one of the Ornate Layers Dies to cut out a small strip of Whisper White Cardstock, and used a Stamping Sponge, along with my Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad, to add a subtle bit of color.
I stamped the cake, cake stand, and hearts (all from the Piece of Cake Stamp Set) on Whisper White Thick Cardstock, using my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad and cut out the cake and cake stand with the coordinating Cake Builder Punch.
To color cake, cake stand, and hearts, I used the following Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs…Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, and Old Olive. I stamped the sentiment (also from the Piece of Cake Stamp Set) with my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad, and used a Stamping Sponge, along with my Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Pad, to add a subtle bit of color. I also tucked a bit of Rose Metallic Thread underneath. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several Iridescent Sequins.
