08.06.20…..Happy Thursday, everyone! Today, I decided to create a card with with the new Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set, from the brand new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! For my color combo, I took some inspiration from yesterday’s card, but just brightened it up a bit with Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo!
This new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!
For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I then added a wide strip of Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (notched at the bottom) and half of a Square Vellum Doily.
I used my Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers to color the sentiment (from the Happiest of Birthday Stamp Set). After I stamped it on Whisper White Cardstock, I cut it out with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, and embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I punched a hole at the top of the label, with the Detailed Trio Punch, and I used my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling, by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap. I also used the same Stitched Nested Label Die to cut out a piece of Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP, and tucked that underneath, and popped them both up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For some fun texture, I added some Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon and Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon…both cut in half vertically. I also added some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, which I colored with both of my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Markers, and gave it a bit of an ombre effect. Using the Small Bloom Punch, I punched out three flowers from some Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP and Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Artistry Blooms Sequins.
Wishing you creativity always,

I am a huge fan of your work and see you often use markers and the cap to flick ink on your projects. Have you noticed any wearing of the markers from doing this? I’d like to try this in my club classes, but am concerned I may have to replace my markers afterwards. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Thank you bunches, Joyce! The markers will wear out eventually, but I alternate between Stampin’ Write Markers and Stampin’ Blends Markers.
