09.25.20…..Happy Friday, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week, we have have a super fun “Designer Takeover” challenge for you! Tami Hewlett (one of our amazingly talented TGIF Designers) choose an Ink Blending Challenge. That’s right, my stampin’ friends…..grab your favorite ink colors, a few Sponge Daubers or Stampin’ Sponges, and…just go crazy! I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, over at TGIF Challenges. We would love to see what you create!
For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I then heat-embossed the pine trees and snow (from the In the Pines Stamp Set) on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
To color the paper, I used Magenta Madness, Highland Heather, and Balmy Blue…along three Sponge Daubers. I used a gently swirling motion to add the color, and continued to add more layers of color until I was satisfied with the results. (I also did quite a bit of blending where the Highland Heather met with the Magenta Madness and the Balmy Blue.) Once I was finished, I layered a slightly larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock underneath, and used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.
The sentiment (from the Warm Hugs Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Whisper White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I punched out the sentiment with the Classic Label Punch, I trimmed it off on the right side, added some Gold Metallic Trim (from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack), and popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Woven Thread Sequins.
