birthday chick…

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today, I want to create a whimsical birthday card for a friend who collects chickens! So…of course I used the Hey Chick Bundle and the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle! Both of these bundles are available from Stampin’ Up! for a limited time only…until June 30, 2021. If you love these “chicks” as much as I do, place an your order today so you don’t miss out!

I started with a Whisper White Thick Cardstock Base, and added some Oh So Ombre which I embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  Tucked along the left edge is a thin strip of True Love Designer Series Paper, and a bit of Basic Black “chicken wire”, that I cut out with one of the dies from the Hey Chick Bundle .  On top of that I added a Basic White circle that I cut out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies, and embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Layered underneath that is a Basic Black scalloped circle, cut out with one of the Layering Circles Dies.

The Sahara Sand garden sign, Granny Apple Green cornstalks and Crushed Curry corn cobs, were cut out with the  dies from the Hey Chick Bundle. The Basic White picket fence was cut out with one of the dies from the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle. The sentiment (also from the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

The chicken (from the Hey Chick Bundle) was stamped with my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad, and colored with the several of the Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Packs…Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Mango Melody. For a fun bit of texture and dimension, I added a black/white baker’s twine (from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack), and sprinkled on a few of the In Good Taste Elements.

Wishing you creativity always,

The 2020-2021 catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!

  1. Such a cute card! It’s quite the compliment because I do not like either bundle, just not into chickens (but SU has sooo many sets to choose from if you prefer something other than chickens)!
