03.04.21…..Happy Thursday, my stampin’ friends! I just love the “modern farmhouse” look…the neutrals (whites, grays and blacks)…paired with the natural greenery…and then usually a unexpected, modern twist! That being said, this was the inspiration for today’s card! I hope it inspires a bit of “modern farmhouse” in you, too!
For this card, I started with Smoky Slate Cardstock, embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Smoky Slate Cardstock base. I then embossed some Basic White Cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, added a bit of True Love Designer Series Paper along the edges, and popped up the entire panel with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To create the wreath, I started with a larger piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, and used a Sponge Dauber to gently add random swirls of Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz. I then used one of the dies from the Forever Flourishing Dies to cut out several of the branches. (You’ll want to cut out a minimum of eight branches.) I also used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to addsome speckling to the branches. (To create the speckling, I “flicked the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outwards towards the paper.)
I added the branches in layers. For the bottom layer, I overlapped four branches to create a circular shape, and adhered them directly to the card base. For the second layer, I repeated this process, but I “offset” the branches just a bit, and popped them up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut a few leaves from another branch, just to fill in a few areas.
The sentiment (from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut it out, I popped up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the bow, I used some Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon (from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack), and cut it in half vertically. For a subtle bit of bling, I added a couple of Resin Hearts.
