03.09.2021…..Happy Tuesday, everyone! Even though I totally love tacos, who says it has to be “Taco Tuesday”? How ’bout “Triple-Scoop Tuesday” instead? I’m a bit obsessed with the Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection, from the Stampin’ Up! January – June 2021 Mini Catalog! And, what’s even better…it includes a coordinating paper punch that punches out the cone and the scoops! How sweet is that?
For this card, I started with a 3″ x 6″ Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then used one of the Ornate Borders Dies to added a decorative edge on the right side. On the inside of the card, I tucked in a narrow strip of 6″ x 6″ Subtles Designer Series Paper. On top of the card base, I also added some Basic White Cardstock, embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.
To create the scoops and the cone, I used two small strips of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Using a Water Painter, I added a wash of Calypso Coral to one strip, and Early Espresso to the other. I then used the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch (from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle) to punch out the shapes. (I also purposely left a bit of “white space” on my watercolor paper, to add an extra bit of interest.)
To create the Early Espresso pattern on the cone, I used on of the stamps from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle. I added speckles to the scoops, using my Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker. For the speckles on the cone, I used my Early Espresso Stampin Write Marker. (To create the speckles, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outwards towards the paper.)
The sentiment (also from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle) was heat-embossed on Coastal Cabana Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies, and layered a Basic White scalloped circle underneath, cut out with one of the Layering Circles Dies.
For some fun texture and dimension, I added some Whisper White Snail Mail Twine…as well as a bit of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon (both cut in half vertically). And, of course…I had to sprinkle on lots of the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles!
