artisan design team – march 2021 – sand and sea suite…

03.20.2021…..Happy Saturday, everyone! I’m so excited to share my March monthly showcase projects for the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Artisan Design Team! For this month’s projects, I was asked to use the beautiful Sand & Sea Suite, from the January – June Mini Catalog!

There have also been a few changes to the way the Artisan Design Team is sharing projects this year. The team has been divided into three groups, and each group is assigned a different collection of products to create with. This means an even greater variety of projects and inspiration. And…instead of the monthly blog hops, the team will have a greater presence on the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page and their Instagram account as well.

Be sure check out the rest of the team’s fabulous creations on the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page at : https://www.facebook.com/stampinup

For both of the cards, I used a Crumb Cake Cardstock base. (The larger card is the standard 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, and the smaller card is 3″ x 6″.) The little gift tag also has a Crumb Cake Cardstock base, cut out with one of the Layering Circles Dies.

On the front of the standard card, I used two different pieces of Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper, tore the right edge of the larger piece, and slightly large piece of Basic White Cardstock underneath. Before I popped up the panel with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added a Vellum Cardstock circle (also cut out with one the Layering Circles Dies), and then adhered a second piece of Basic White Cardstock to the card base.

All of the seashells (from the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle) were heat-embossed on the Sand & Sea DSP (using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder), and cut out with the coordinating dies. For the seaweed, I used Gilded Leafing (along with Heat & Stick Powder), and cut them out with a coordinating die as well.

The sentiment (also from the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle) was heat-embossed on Basic White Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the Basic White scalloped edge underneath the sentiment, I used one of the borders from the Stitched Be Mine Dies. The bow was created with Blushing Bride twine (from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack), along with some Linen Thread. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Opal Rounds, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and gold Metallic Pearls.

Next up is the 3″ x 6″ card…

I used the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a wide strip of Basic White Cardstock. Tucked underneath is a Basic White border, which was created with one of the Ornate Borders Dies. All three of the little flags were cut out with one of the dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies. The two out flags were cut from the Sand & Sea DSP. The middle flag includes a heat-embossed sentiment (using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder) on Basic White Cardstock.

The little seashell and starfish (from the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle) were heat-embossed on the Sand & Sea DSP (using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder), and cut out with the coordinating dies. The bow was created with Blushing Bride twine (from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, along with some Linen Thread. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Opal Rounds, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and gold Metallic Pearls.

Last, but certainly not least, is the gift tag…

I used the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a Basic White Cardstock circle, which was cut out with one of the Layering Circles Dies. The little seashells (from the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle) were heat-embossed on the Sand & Sea DSP (using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder), and cut out with the coordinating dies.

The heat-embossed sentiment (using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder) on Basic White Cardstock. The bow was created with Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (colored with the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends Marker), and a bit of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Opal Rounds, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, and gold Metallic Pearls.

Wishing you creativity always,

  1. These are WOW cards if I’ve ever seen one!! Absolutely beautiful work! I love this Suite but hated the DSP in it. You have made me reconsider…

    Have a wonderful weekend Tammy!
