stamping sunday blog hop – mini catalog fauna…

03.28.21…..Happy Sunday, everyone! I can’t believe that March has almost come to a close! And…..it’s already time for another Stamping Sunday Blog Hop! For this Sunday’s hop, we are featuring “fauna”cards and projects, created with any animal stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! January – June Mini Catalog! We hope you have a chance to hop along with us today! You won’t want to miss any of the wonderful projects created by our amazing designers!

Today, I’m sharing two projects that I’ve created with products from the Hey Chick Bundle. I created a 3″ x 6″ card, and a decorarated a Mini Pizza Box. I’ve also included complete instructions underneath each project, so you can scroll right to the project that suits your fancy and start creating!

Let’s start with the 3″ x 6″ card…

I started with some Basic White Cardstock, embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then embossed embossed another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, layered some True Love Designer Series Paper underneath, and adhered it to the card base.

I stamped the chicken (from the Hey Chick Bundle) three times on Basic White Thick Cardstock, using my Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. I then used a Water Painter to quickly add a light wash of color each chicken, using Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Granny Apple Green. (I kept the brush a bit dry, so that I didn’t saturate the cardstock.) After I cut out each chicken with the coordinating die from the same bundle, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, “flicking” outward towards the paper.)

The sentiment (also from the Hey Chick Bundle) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a some fun texture and dimension, I added some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon (cut in half vertically). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on some Opal Rounds and Woven Threads Sequins.

Next up is the Mini Pizza Box

I started with a square of True Love DSP, adhered it to the Mini Pizza Box. I then embossed a strip of Basic White Thick Cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and wrapped it around the center of the box. Tucked along the bottom edge of the strip, is a tiny Basic White Thick Cardstock border, cut out with one of the Ornate Borders Dies. I also used one of the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out a Basic White Thick Cardstock circle, embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
