04.04.21…..Happy Easter Sunday, my stampin’ friends! This weekend, the temperatures have warmed up quite a bit! I know there’s still a bit of cooler weather around the corner, but it’s starting to really feel like Spring…or even summer! That being said, I decided it would be a great time to create a card with the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set! For the sentiment, I also decided to use the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set, which is one of the many products that will be retiring from the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. I hope this card inspires you to create a bright, colorful Spring or Summer-themed card!
For this card, I started with some Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then used another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, used a Sponge Dauber to add a subtle bit of Magenta Madness in the center. After I embossed it with with the Subtle 3D Embossied Folder, layered some Magenta Madness Cardstock underneath, and used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.
To create the three popsicles, I used the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set. I used the stamp for the lower half of the popsicle, and stamped it in Petal Pink. I then used the stamp for the upper half of the popsicle, and stamped it in Magenta Madness. (The upper half of the popsicle was overlapped slightly on top of the lower half.) I then used my Light Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends Marker to add some speckling. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, “flicking” outward towards the paper.) The popsicle sticks were stamped in Crumb Cake. After I cut out each of the popsicles, I popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment (from the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some fun texture, I added some Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon, Petal Pink Striped Organdy Ribbon, and Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
