04.09.2021…..Happy Friday, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! We love bringing you weekly paper-crafting inspiration, and are so excited to have you join us for this week’s Sketch Challenge…Slimline Card!

We want to see what you create with making a “Slimline Card”Slim line cards can be any dimensions that you choose, as long as they are “long and skinny” but there are a couple of common sizes that we have found (folded dimensions): Traditional Slimline – 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (fits standard business envelope), and Mini Slimline – 3″ x 6″.

This challenge should be a great one to spark wonderful creativity! We hope you have a chance to play along with us today! We would love to see what you create!

For this card, I started with some Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base (Folded Size: 3″ x 6″). I then heat-embossed the palm tree (from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set) several times on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

To create the watercolored background, misted the paper just a bit with my Stampin’ Spritzer. I then used a Water Painter…along with Highland Heather, Magenta Madness, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green. As the colors started to run together, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  To add the extra little water spots, I dipped my fingertips in a bit of water, and “flicked” them above the paper. This time, I let the paper dry on it’s own, and did not use my heat tool. Once the paper was dry, I tore off the top and bottom edges, and popped up the paper with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment (also from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a few tiny pieces of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
