artisan design team – august 2021 – evergreen elegance & whimsy and wonder…

07.25.2021…..Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’m so excited to share my August monthly showcase projects for the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Artisan Design Team! For this month’s projects, I was asked to use products from the Evergreen Elegance Bundle (Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set + Evergreen Border Punch), from the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, and…the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper, from the Stampin’ Up! August – December Mini Catalog. Hope this inspires you to create some cards or projects with this wonderful products!

There have also been a few changes to the way the Artisan Design Team is sharing projects this year. The team has been divided into three groups, and each group is assigned a different collection of products to create with. This means an even greater variety of projects and inspiration. And…instead of the monthly blog hops, the team will have a greater presence on the Stampin’ Up! Corporate Facebook Page and their Instagram account as well.

Let’s start with the vertical card on the left…

For this card, I started with two pieces of Whimsy & Wonder DSP, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. (I also tore the left edge of the smaller piece of DSP.) I then used a Sponge Dauber to add Mint Macaron to a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tucked underneath the left edge, is a scalloped border, created with one of the Scalloped Contour Dies. For a bit of shimmer, I also added two of the Wonderful Snowflakes.

The sentiment (from the Evergreen Elegance Bundle) was heat-embossed on Polished Pink Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The two rows of trees were punch out from some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, using the Evergreen Border Punch. I then used a Water Painter to add a wash of Polished Pink to the trees. To add some extra texture, I used some Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon (cut in half vertically). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Subtle Shimmer Sequins.

Next up, is the horizontal card on the right…

For this card, I started with some Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. Layered on top of that, is some Whimsy and Wonder DSP, with the bottom edge torn off. The trees (from the Evergreen Elegance Bundle) were stamped in Polished Pink, on Basic White Thick Cardstock. To create the lighter pink trees, I “stamped off” once before stamping on the cardstock. I then embossed the cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and added some speckling with my Dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outward towards the cardstock.) Tucked underneath the bottom edge, is a scalloped border, created with one of the Scalloped Contour Dies.

The Basic White Thick Cardstock tag was cut out with one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I then used a Sponge Dauber to add Mint Macaron to the center of the tag, and then adhered one of the Wonderful Snowflakes on top. The sentiment (from the Evergreen Elegance Bundle) was heat-embossed on Polished Pink Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and white Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To add some extra texture, I used some Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon (cut in half vertically). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Subtle Shimmer Sequins.

Wishing you creativity always,
