10.04.2021…..Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I wanted to share a card that I created for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge! It is a “sketch” challenge (created by the talented Jenn Frost…one of our Stampin’ Fancy Friday team members). So…..all of our team members created cards, using the “sketch” illiustrated below. I also decided to incorporate the trendy “alcohol ink” technique for my card. Hope this challenge inspires you to create a card or project with some of your favorite techniques and/or products!
For this card, I started with some Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then used “alcohol ink” technique, along with the following Stampin’ Blends Markers…..Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Blackberry Bliss. After I randomly added patches of color on some Vellum Cardstock (with my Stampin’ Blends Markers), I used a paint brush to add splatters of rubbing alcohol to the Vellum Cardstock. After the cardstock dried, I added more patches of color, along with the splatters of rubbing alcohol, until I was satisfied. I also used a Heat Tool part of the time, to dry the cardstock.
Once I was finished, I cut the cardstock into three strips, and added matching strips of Basic White Thick Cardstock underneath. I then used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the strips to the card base.
The sentiment (from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic White Thick Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut it out with one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies, I popped it up with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To add some extra texture and dimension, I added some Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon and Gold Shimmer Ribbon, both cut in half vertically. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
