03.07.2022…..Happy Monday, my stampin’ friends! Winter is still hanging on where I live, and even though it was 21 degrees when I went out running this morning, I was totally feeling some beach vibes! So…..naturally, I had to create a beach-themed card…with a shabby chic twist! Hope this card inspires you to create a few “beach vibe” projects, too!
For this card, I started with some Pool Party Cardstock, embossed it with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Pool Party Cardstock base. Next, I add some layers of Heart & Home and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.
For the next layer, I used some Basic White Thick Cardstock (along with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies) to cut out a scalloped rectangle. Next, I die cut another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock with the Stitched Greenery Die, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To create the seashells and seaweed, I used the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle. I heat-embossed the images on Basic White Thick Cardstock, and cut them out the coordinating dies from the same bundle. To color the images, I used a Water Painter, along with Bermuda Bay, Misty Moonlight, and Gray Granite.
The sentiment (from the Whale Done Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on In Good Taste DSP, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. In the top right corner of the sentiment, I also added a couple of Round Brads (…which I lightly sanded). Tucked underneath the sentiment, is Misty Moonlight Baker’s Twine… from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. (I also pulled apart the threads to add more of a shabby chic look.) For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Genial Gems, and Elegant Faceted Gems.
