stampin’ fancy friday – catalog inspired challenge…

06.23.2022…..Happy Thursday, my stampin’ friends! Today, I wanted to share a card that I created for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge! It’s a “Catalog Inspired Challenge”, using the new 2022-2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. How fun is that!!!

I absolutely adore anything shabby chic, so when I saw the projects created on page 98, using the Texture Chic Suite, my heart was full of inspiration! This suite has such an amazing mix of images and colors, and also includes the gorgeous Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.

Be sure to join us to see what our Stampin’ Fancy Friday team created. We have 21 amazing projects to share, and each using different inspiration from throughout the catalog !

Then you create with a some catalog inspiration of your own or use one from our team, share your project on IG or FB and tag us by using #stampinfancyfriday or #fancyfridaychallenges in your post.

For this card, I started with some Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then used a Blending Brush to add some Coastal Cabana to another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, and embossed it with the Quatrefoil 3D Embossing Folder. I added some Texture Chic Designer Series Paper underneath, and popped up the entire panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next, I added some Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, which I cut out with the grid die from the Season of Chic Bundle. On top of that, I layered a narrow strip of Texture Chic DSP.

To create the flowers and leaves, I used a Water Painter to add Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana, and Mint Macaron to the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Once the paper was dry, I cut out the flowers and leaves with more dies from the Season of Chic Bundle. I also added some speckling to the leaves and flowers, using my Dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Marker. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outward toward the die cut pieces.) On top of the large flower, I added another flower layer, using the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and one of the flower dies.

The sentiment (from the Season of Chic Bundle) was heat-embossed on Basic White Thick Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To create the bow, I used Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise) and Linen Thread. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Elegant Faceted Gems and 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.

Wishing you creativity always,
