#tgifc378 – favorite things…

07.22.2022…..Happy Friday, my stampin’ friends! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week we have a fabulous inspiration challenge for you! Yep…..it’s a “My Favorite Things” challenge! Just pick a few (…or more) of your favorite things that you love to create with…and just go crazy! It’s easy to create when you are inspired by “your favorite things”, so go ahead and show off your favorites!

For my card, I used the Splendid Stems Dies, along with…..the Vintage Bottle Punch and Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes. I also used a watercoloring technique (…my fave technique) to create the paper that I used to die cut the stems. I hope this inspires you to use some your favorite products and techniques, as well!

For my card, I started with a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. I then used another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, and embossed it with the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder. I used the Vintage Bottle Punch to punch out the bottle, and adhered a Vintage Bottle Dome underneath. (Note: The Vintage Bottle Domes already have adhesive on them.) I also Effervescent Elements inside the bottle. To create the “pink water”, I used a Blending Brush to add some Polished Pink to a another piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock, and adhered that underneath the bottle.

To create the the colorful branches, I started with some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I then used a Water Painter to add Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight to the paper. Once the paper was dry, I used a couple of the Splendid Stems Dies to cut out two branches. I also cut out a third branch, using Basic White Cardstock.

The sentiment (from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic White Thick Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To create the bow, I used White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. After I cut it in half lengthwise, I used Light Flirty Flamingo and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers to randomly color the ribbon. I also used White Baker’s Twine, and pull out just a few of the threads to add to the bow, For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on For Everything Fancy Sequins.

Wishing you creativity always,

  1. Tammy, such a beautiful card! Do you know is SU has a current cardstock color that closely matches Brilliant Blue? Also looking for one to match Close to Cocoa. I love these colors and can’t seem to find any manufacturer that has a match. Thanks!

    1. Thanks so much, Kathy! Those closest color is probably Pacific Point, but it has more of a teal tone to it. I don’t think there is anything right now that is similar to Close to Cocoa.
