09.09.2022…..Happy Friday, my stampin’ friends! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week we have a fabulous sketch challenge for you! Sketch challenges are one of my faves, and it seems like y’all really love them, too! Hope this card inspires you to create a fun, unique card using this week’s challenge!
For my card, I actually flipped the card layout vertically. I then started with a Petal Pink Cardstock, embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Petal Pink Cardstock base.
To create the multi-colored leaves, I stamped the large leaf stamp (from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set) in Petal Pink, and “stamped off” twice, on a piece of scrap paper. (I did not stamp on the cardstock yet.) I then used Sponge Daubers to add a bit of Gray Granite to the leaves and stems, and then I stamped on the Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock. I repeated this process three or four times, cleaning off the stamp in between, before I placed the stamp in Petal Pink again.
To give the leaves and stems a bit of a watercolor feel, I used my Water Painter (filled with water) to add lots of water droplets. To create the speckling, I flicked the brush tip against the inside edge of the lid, and “flicked” outward towards the cardstock.
Once the cardstock was dry (you may want to use a Heat Tool for this), I embossed it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. I thenused my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker to add some speckling. To create the speckling, I flicked the the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the lid, and “flicked” outward towards the cardstock.
Next, I tore the right edge of the cardstock, layered a strip of Kraft Paper underneath, and tore the right edge as well. Layered under that is a strip of Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the entire panel to the card base.
For an extra bit of texture, I cut out three leaves (using the Chic Dies) from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and adhered them where I planned to add the sentiment. The sentiment (from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad. After I cut out the sentiment, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.
For a little extra texture, I created a Linen Thread bow and tucked in under the sentiment. To add a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins and Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Wishing you creativity always,
